Saint Petersburg - Russia
The name of the hotel where the instructors seminars will be held, will be confirmed by April 2024. This will also include the training room, but is subject to change if we have increased numbers of students who attend.
The location is central Saint Petersburg, close to the Moscow railway station and Nevskiy Prospekt.
The hotel :
- is located 5 minutes walk away from Moskovskiy Railway Station
- is located 40 minutes drive from Pulkova airport
- is opposite the Ploschad Vosstaniya Metro (underground railway) station

Close to the hotel, you will find :
- Nevskiy Center (shopping mall) - used to be called Stockmans
- Galleria (shopping mall) - with cinemas and 5 floors of shops
- Nevskiy Prospekt (main street of Saint Petersburg)
- Crown Hotel , Corinthia Hotel and many other apartment hotels

We are busy negotiating a special price in the seminar hotel, where you could stay if you choose to.
More details will be available in February / March 2024, with links to additional accommodation etc.
There are a number of additional hotels close by, from 3 star to 5 star, and even apart hotels too.
If you are travelling from outside of Russia to Saint Petersburg, then please get in touch with Craig, should you need to book any accommodation. International card payments are not accepted within Russia due to sanctions, but Craig has plenty of options to help you with your accommodation needs.

how to get there FLY INTO SPB

If you plan to travel by plane to Saint Petersburg, then Pulkova Airport is where you will arrive.
This airport serves as a flight hub for both national and international flights.
Some examples of international airlines that still fly to Pulkova (LED) Airport
- Emirates
- flyDubai
- Ethiad
- Turkish Airlines
Some airlines are seasonal and operate mainly during the summer time, but there are many other airlines that arrive in Saint Petersburg.

Once at the airport, the easiest way to get into Saint Petersburg is to use the Yandex taxi application and get a taxi. The drive is about 35 to 55 minutes depending on traffic. Emirates airlines arrive at about 9pm each evening, and if you are not Russian and do not speak Russian then please contact Craig to assist you with your arrival in Saint Petersburg.

Important note - please do not accept offers from people in the airport arrivals hall for taxi services. It is best to use the Yandex application or contact the taxi counter in the airport on arrival.

ARRIVE BY TRAIN from Moscow etc.

The high speed train from Moscow to Saint Petersburg arrives several times a day. There is also an overnight train that has sleeper coaches which will allow you to get some sleep overnight before arriving in Saint Petersburg. The closest railway station is Moskovskiy Railway station (SAPSAN high speed trains leave and arrive here)

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION

There are many busses, trams and other forms of public transport which arrive or depart from within 5 minutes walk from the seminar hotel. Ploschad Vostaniya is the underground (METRO) station close by to the seminar hotel (a one way trip costs about 70 rubles).
Yandex taxi is the best way to order a taxi.
Getting around in Saint Petersburg is really easy, and if you want some exercise then you can always take a walk down Nevskiy Prospekt towards the river, whilst window shopping all the shops, cafes, restaurant, hotels and more.

Saint Petersburg offers you a super selection of things to see and do.

• Peterhoff Palace (a short hydrofoil boat trip from the river embankment close to the hermitage museum). This is also know and the summer palace and is a must for you to visit during the summer time.

• Winter Palace / Hermitage Museum. If you spend one minute viewing each item on display in the museum, they estimate it will take you seven years to see it all. From Rembrandt, to Van Gogh, to Gaugin and many more. There are so many original artworks here that it is a must for the art connoisseur to see.

• Church of the saviour on spilled blood (where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated), which has intricate mosaics and richly decorated onion domes

• Kazan Cathedral and Saint Isaacs Cathedral (where the hop-on hop-off bus departs from for a wonderful tour of the city)

• various theatres and opera / ballet halls. A definite must if you can, is to see Swan Lake, or a symphony performance in one of the many theatres and halls around the city

• Summer Gardens - which is amazingly beautiful to walk through in the summer time

• Peter and Paul Fortress - which has had many different roles for the city since established in 1703 and completed in 1740

• Canal boat trips - especially in the summer months when the bridges open around midnight and you can sail underneath and opening bridge at night time

• White nights - which is a period of about 4 weeks in June / July when the sun does not set in the sky

• various smaller museums and locations, including one dedicated to the works of Faberge (including 9 Easter eggs made by the house of Faberge).

How to Apply for a Teacher’s Assistant
A Teacher Assistant is a Certified Instructor who has already taken that seminar and is there to assist students when Vianna breaks them into groups for training. Teachers Assistants are awarded based off number of students in seminar and some may be chosen last minute.
