Rovinj doesn't have traditional public transportation such as buses, shuttle buses, or trams. The best way to explore the city's attractions is by walking. Even a short walk to the nearest store from your hotel or private apartments will only take 5-10 minutes.
If you prefer, you can rent a bike as there are excellent bicycle paths along the entire coastline.
The most popular mode of transportation within Rovinj is by taxi.
If you want to reach one of the islands in the archipelago, you can take a boat from the city center or the pier near the Park Hotel.
For long-distance transportation from Rovinj to other Croatian cities, it's advisable to choose the bus service, as taxis can be expensive. Rovinj is connected to Pula (40-45 minutes), Porec (1 hour), and Zagreb (5-8 hours) via the coastal highway.
For visiting attractions like Plitvice Lakes, taking guided excursions is more cost-effective then a regular bus service. Organized tour buses use toll roads, significantly reducing travel time.
